Mylio Photos’ Cache is a temporary holding area used when Device Sync Settings are adjusted. For instance, you may have used Sync on Demand to temporarily access a Smart Preview or Original file on a Device that is set to keep Thumbnails, or you may have changed the Sync Policy for a specific folder.

Photos and videos that are cached are represented by a green squiggly line in the Sync Panel. This shows that a device has photos and videos (or higher quality versions of a photo or video) that it does not need.

If your device is Auto-Optimized, Mylio Photos will monitor the cache and if your device becomes full, will automatically manage the Cache. However, in some instances, you may want to manually remove the cache if your device is running low on storage.

To empty the cache in Mylio Photos:

  1. Open Mylio Photos, select the Dashboard view, and choose Devices.
  2. Click or tap on the Device Card for the device you are using to open the Device Settings.
  3. Click or tap the Clear Cache button.

  1. Mylio Photos will show the number of Smart Previews and Originals that can be cleared from the cache. Complete the process by clicking the YES button.
