Mylio Photos’ facial recognition can be adjusted in several ways to fit your needs.
Disable Face Detection
Face detection in Mylio Photos is ON by default, but you can choose to disable it.
- Click or tap the ellipsis icon
in the top app bar to access the More menu and choose Settings.
- Select Advanced.
- Click or tap the OFF button under Face Detection.
- You can re-enable it at any time by clicking or tapping the ON button.
Restrict Face Detection on Battery
Face Detection in Mylio Photos requires additional energy which can cause your device’s battery to drain faster. For devices such as laptops, tablets, and smartphones, you can choose to limit Face Detection to times when your device is connected to power.
- Click or tap the ellipsis icon
in the top app bar to access the More menu and choose Settings.
- Select Advanced.
- Toggle the switch next to Restrict Face Detection on Battery to the ON position.
- You can disable this setting at any time by toggling the switch to the OFF position.
Face Recognition Proposals
As you start naming people in your photos and adding face tags, Mylio Photos will locate additional photos that appear to be the same person and suggest a face tag. This is also known as a Face Recognition Proposal. Mylio Photos lets you set a threshold for these proposals that range from a higher number of proposals (with lower accuracy), or a lower number of proposals (with higher accuracy). You can adjust this threshold in Mylio Photos’ settings.
- Click or tap the ellipsis icon
in the top app bar to access the More menu and choose Settings.
- Select Advanced.
- Adjust the slider under Face Recognition Proposals.
- Moving the slider to the right will propose fewer, but more accurate results.
- Moving the slider to the left will propose more, but less accurate results.
- Click or tap the Default button to reset the Face Recognition Proposals to the default setting.
