Keeping Mylio Photos up to date means that you always have the newest features and tools at your fingertips.

*TIP: Mylio Photos requires an active internet connection to download and install updates. You may want to use wifi or a wired internet connection (rather than cellular data) as updates can be relatively large.

Automatic Updates for Computers

If you have an active internet connection and an update is available, you’ll be prompted to install the update when you launch the application.

1. Launch Mylio Photos on a computer.
2. You’ll receive a notification within the application if an update is available.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.

Automatic Updates for Mobile Devices

Automatic updates on smartphones and tablets are controlled by settings you choose at the device level for all applications. By default, automatic updates are likely enabled for your device.

Manually Check for an Update

If you aren’t asked to update when the application opens, you can prompt Mylio Photos to check for updates. You will need an active internet connection to update your device.

1. Open Mylio Photos and manually prompt the application to check for updates.
   • Windows – Open the Help menu in the top menu bar and choose Check for Updates.
   • macOS – Open the Mylio menu in the top menu bar and choose Check for Updates.

2. If an update for Mylio Photos is available, you’ll be promoted to install the update automatically.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with installing the update.

*TIP: The automatic and in-app updates are strongly recommended for the best experience and smoothest update process.

Manually Updating Mylio Photos

In the rare case that you encounter an issue with the automatic or in-app update installer, you can choose to update Mylio Photos Manually by downloading the most recent version of the application from your Mylio Account.

!NOTE: Manual updates should only be used when the in-app or automatic update process fails.

Manually Updating on a Computer

1. Open a web browser, go to https://account.mylio.com/login, and log into your Mylio Account.
2. Select Download Mylio Photos to download the most recent version of the application.
3. Locate the download in your Downloads folder, double-click it to launch the installer, and follow the on-screen instructions. This will replace your current installation of Mylio Photos or re-install the app, but will not affect your library or media.

!!Manual Updates Failing?

In rare cases, you may be unable to manually update your Mylio Photos application. To resolve this issue you will need to remove the current Mylio Photos application before manually installing the update. This situation is more common on Windows computers due to how security certificates are handled.

Removing Mylio Photos will not cause you to lose any images, edits, or metadata.

1. Open your Settings for Windows. You can do this from the Windows menu (by clicking the gear icon) or by pressing the Windows Key + i.
2. Choose the Apps category
3. Scroll down to the applications list and locate Mylio Photos.
4. Click to select Mylio Photos and choose Uninstall.
5. Once the previous version has been removed, you can download and install Mylio Photos using the instructions above.

Manually Updating on Android

1. On your Android device, open the Play Store.
2. Click in the Search field, and enter Mylio Photos.
3. Tap the Update button next to the app name.

Manually Updating on iOS

1. On your iOS device, open the App Store.
2. Click the Search icon and enter Mylio Photos in the search field.
3. Tap the Update button next to the app name.
