The following terms will help you better understand the process of adding your media to the Mylio Photos app.
Add Media – Click or tap the Add Media icon to add photos and videos from an internal or external drive, or import new media from an SD card, camera, or online service. Adding media makes those photos and videos part of your Mylio Photos Library. For Mylio Photos+ users, this media will be synced to all of your devices so you can view, organize, and edit from any Mylio Photos-connected device.
Copy – When adding photos and videos to your Mylio Photos Library, you can choose to Link, Copy, or Move your media. Choosing Copy adds a duplicate of the original(s) to your Mylio Library Folder without moving or deleting the Originals.
Device – In Mylio Photos, Device refers to a computer, external drive, cloud service, phone, or tablet that has been added to your Mylio Account. For Mylio Photos+ subscribers, each device contains your photos and is synchronized with your Mylio Photos Library.
External Drive – An External Drive is a storage device that is directly attached to your computer via USB or Thunderbolt.
Import – Importing is the process that adds files and photos to your Mylio Photos Library from sources like an SD card, camera, or online service.
Last Media Added View – When an import is complete, Mylio Photos will display the most recently added media in the Last Media Added View. If you would like to disable this setting (ON by default), go to the More menu > Settings > General > and toggle the switch next to Last Media Added View to OFF.
Link – When adding photos and videos to your Mylio Photos Library, you can choose to Link, Copy, or Move your media. Linking a folder will keep the photos and videos in their current location on your hard drive and show them in Mylio Photos app.
Move – When adding photos and videos to your Mylio Photos Library, you can choose to Link, Copy, or Move your media. Choosing Move will add the selected photos and videos to your Mylio Library Folder and erase them from the original location to free up disk space.
Mylio Library Folder – The Mylio Library Folder is the default location for your imported media that you select when you first install Mylio Photos. This can be a new or existing folder on a local drive. Photos stored in this folder will show in your Mylio Photos app.
NAS – NAS is an acronym for a Network Attached Storage device. This is a special type of drive that multiple computers can typically see via a network connection.
Vault – A Vault is a role that Mylio Photos+ subscribers can assign to any device. A device designated as a Vault stores a complete copy of all photos and videos in your Mylio Photos Library and is often used for backup and protection.
