SmartTags and Keywords make it easy to get organized and find images. SmartTags are automatically generated using AI to recognize objects and other visual traits about a photo. SmartTags use a process called computer vision, which attempts to recognize the subject and properties of a photo.
Keywords are labels or tags that you can add to your photos to help you organize and search for them more easily. They can be added on import or manually entered in the Keywords section of the Info Panel. Both SmartTags and Keywords are fully searchable in Mylio Photos.
Working with SmartTags
SmartTags are automatically generated when you import images into Mylio Photos and add information about the visual properties of your images. SmartTags include traits like exposure, focus, and color as well as specific types of animals, buildings, vehicles, and more.
- Select an image or group of images.
- Click or tap on the arrow
at the top of the right sidebar to reveal the right panel and access the Info Panel.
- Scroll down to the SmartTags section to see all AI-generated tags associated with your image(s).
- Promote a SmartTag to a Keyword by clicking the checkmark icon next to the tag.
- Remove a SmartTag by clicking the X icon next to the tag.
- If you accidentally remove a SmartTag, right-click on your selection (or open the Actions menu), and choose Photo > Rescan SmartTags. This will reset and regenerate all applicable AI SmartTags.
Working with Keywords
Keywords are searchable words and phrases that can be added to a photo or series of photos to further organize your Mylio Photos Library. You can add Keywords when importing or add them in the Keywords section of the Info Panel.
Adding and Editing Keywords in the Info Panel
- Select the image(s) you want to apply keywords to.
- Click or tap on the arrow
at the top of the right sidebar to reveal the right panel and access the Info Panel.
- Scroll down to the Keywords section.
- If a single photo is selected, click or tap the Keywords field to add or edit keywords. When entering multiple keywords, each keyword or keyphrase should be separated by a comma (e.g., Puerto Rico, Cuba, Jamaica).
- If mulitple photos are selected, click the Edit Keywords button.
- In the Keywords to Add field, list the keywords separated with a comma, that you would like to add to the group of photos.
- If the selected images already have keywords applied, you can choose one of the following actions for each keyword:
- Remove the keyword from all selected photos using the X icon.
- Leave the keyword “as is” using the ٭ (asterisk) icon.
- Add the keyword to all selected photos using the checkmark icon.
- Click the Apply button when you are finished.
