Device Settings let you customize how each device on your account is set up.
To customize settings for a specific device:
- Click or tap on the Dashboard icon
in the left sidebar.
- Select Devices, then click or tap on a Device Card to open the Device Settings.
- Customize these settings to best fit each device and your personal workflow. The list below gives an overview of each available Device Settings option.
- Device Nickname – Click into the text field next to the device icon to change the Device Nickname.
- Device Sync Policies – Opening Device Sync Policies allows you to view and change the photo quality settings for images and files synced to each of your devices.
- Unprotected Files – Opening Unprotected Files will display all files not backed up to at least two Vaults.
- Lost Originals – Opening Lost Originals will show a Thumbnail or Optimized Image for any file that does not have a corresponding Original in your Library. (This setting is hidden if there are no lost or missing files.) Lost Originals are caused when the Original version of a file is deleted outside of the Mylio Photos+ app before it was fully synced.
- Unsupported Files – Opening Unsupported Files will locate all files on a selected device that Mylio Photos+ does not support. Typically, these are Raw files from a camera unsupported by Mylio Photos.
- Show Files to Sync – Opening Show Files to Sync will display media that is currently waiting to sync to that device. (This setting is hidden if all files have been successfully synced.)
- Linked Folders – Opening Linked Folders will show the top-level folders in your Library that live on this device.
- Guest Mode – Toggle this switch to enable or disable Guest Mode.
- Allow Sharing – Toggle this switch to enable or disable Guest Mode users’ ability to share media.
- Allow Rating – Toggle this switch to enable or disable Guest Mode users’ ability to rate media.
- Log Capture Level – Adjust the slider to select the detail level of the logs captured by Mylio Photos.
- Device List – Customize the information shown in the Sync Panel.
- Choose to Show All or only Online Devices.
- Choose to view a Full or Compact overview of each Device.
- Sync – Toggle this switch to enable or disable syncing between your devices.
- Sync on Demand – Toggle this switch to enable or disable temporarily syncing photos viewed on this device but not regularly stored here.
- Sync over IP V6 – Toggle this switch to enable or disable syncing over IP V6.
- Sync with Cloud Services – Toggle this switch to enable or disable syncing with all cloud services.
- Sync Panel – Toggle this switch to enable or disable viewing the Sync Panel in the Right Panel.
- Hotspot – Click to create a personal hotspot to share an internet connection across devices.
- Device Storage – Opening Device Storage lets you view and manage the available free space on your device and the space that Mylio Photos is using.
- Clear Cache – If the Device Sync Policy for your device has changed, there may be Optimized Images and/or Originals that are no longer needed. Clicking the Clear Cache button will remove the unnecessary file, freeing up storage space on your device. You can select which type of cached files to remove – Optimized Images or Originals – as well.
- Safe Delete – Safe Delete guards against data loss if photos and video files are deleted outside of the Mylio Photos+ app and will attempt to restore the deleted file from another device that has the Original. This option is ON by default to protect you from erasing images from your Mylio Photos Library. However, you may want to turn it OFF if you plan to clean up unwanted files outside of Mylio Photos+ to reclaim disk space.
- Unregister Device – Unregistering a device will remove it completely from Mylio Photos+ and from your Mylio Account. Do not choose this option unless you are absolutely sure.
