Mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, offer similar export options to computers, but they must be configured before initiating an export.

Configuring Export & Sharing Settings

  1. Click or tap the ellipsis icon in the top app bar to access the More menu and choose Settings.

  1. Select Export & Sharing.

  1. Choose from the following settings:
    • File Type
      • JPEG – useful for web and multimedia applications
      • PNG – higher quality, web-friendly file format
      • TIFF – perfect for printing or image archival
      • Unmodified Original – create a copy of the original file, and ignore any edits that were made in Mylio Photos
    • Resolution
      • Small – reduced in pixel dimensions or for quick sharing
      • Medium – good for screen use
      • Large – a high-quality image that’s useful for sharing or repurposing
      • Maximum available – the highest-quality file for the currently selected media.
    • Quality – Low, Medium, High, or Maximum
    • Safeshare – Strip all metadata from the exported image(s), including Camera EXIF, Caption and Keywords, Ratings, Copyright, IPTC, People, and Places.
    • Color Space
      • sRGB – sRGB is the narrowest color space but is most compatible with web and email for digital viewing.
      • Display P3 – Display P3 is Intended for sharing and viewing on mobile devices but is not supported by all devices.
      • Adobe RGB – Adobe RGB is a common color space used in computer graphics and many software applications and is often used to create physical prints.
      • ProPhoto RGB – ProPhoto RGB is the widest color space and supports the broadest range of colors. This is the only color space containing all colors captured in a raw photo. This color space is optimal for images that will be edited further in other applications.
    • Bit Depth – Available for PNG and TIFF File Types. Bit depth measures how much color is available for the display or printing of each pixel
      • 8-Bit – The most common bit depth. An 8-bit image will display a little more than 16 million colors.
      • 16-Bit – Provides editing flexibility but can increase file sizes and processing times. A 16-bit image will be able to display over 280 trillion colors.
      • Auto – Mylio Photos will choose the appropriate bit-depth for your export based on the quality of the original.
    • Metadata
      • Camera EXIF – information about the camera and lens used to create a photo
      • Caption and Keywords – details about a photo such as a title and keywords
      • Ratings – the star ratings of an image.
      • Copyright – information about the creator of a photo
      • IPTC – expanded details about a photo
      • People – information about who appears in a photo
      • PlacesGPS information about a photo
    • Apply Watermark – ON or OFF to add a visible overlay on top of the image to indicate the creator or status of the image.

  1. Once you’ve configured your settings, you can close the menu. Your chosen settings will be applied to your next export.

Exporting Media Using a Smartphone or Tablet

Exporting from Mylio Photos on a mobile device uses the iOS or Android share menu. This allows you to export your media to your device’s file system or other applications installed on your mobile device.

  1. Select the photo(s), folder(s), or album(s) you want to export.
  1. Tap the Share icon in the right sidebar to access the iOS or Android share menu.

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the export for your chosen destination. The options listed will include social sharing apps you have installed on your device and several options built into the operating system. Options will vary based on the installed software and operating system.
    • AirDrop (iOS) – Share your photo(s) with nearby iOS users.
    • Mail – Send your photo(s) via email. Click here to learn more about emailing photos.
    • Messages – Send your photo(s) via text message.
    • Save Image – Save the image(s) to your Camera Roll. NOTE: If Mylio Photos is set up to import from your Camera Roll, this will result in duplicate images in your Mylio Photos Library.
    • Save to FIles (iOS) – Save the image(s) to a folder in your iCloud Drive.
    • Save to Drive (Android or iOS) – Save the image(s) to a folder in your Google Drive (if installed).
    • Save to Dropbox (Android or iOS) – Save the image(s) to a folder in your Dropbox (if installed).
    • Copy – Copy your photo(s) to your system clipboard to be pasted into another application.
    • Print – Send your photo(s) to print on a nearby wireless enabled printer. Click here to learn more about printing from Mylio Photos.
    • More – If the app you wish to share with is not listed, tap the More button to see additional apps enabled for sharing on your device.
