Setting a Device Sync Policy Preset

Device Sync Policies control how information about your Mylio Photos+ Library is stored on each of your connected devices. Mylio Photos+ comes pre-installed with several Device Sync Policy presets that fit various needs and device types. You can also create custom presets Using QuickCollections, to fit your workflow.

Using a Device Sync Policy Preset

1. Click or tap on the Dashboard icon in the left sidebar.

2. Select Devices, then click or tap on a Device Card to open the Device Settings, then select Device Sync Policies.

3. Click the Preset dropdown menu and select the Device Sync Policy you wish to use for the selected device.

• Catalog – Only keep thumbnails of each photo on this device. Choosing Catalog uses the minimum amount of space possible. Viewing an image at full size (Optimized or Original) will require another device with Mylio Photos+ installed and running. The Catalog Device Sync Policy is best for devices with minimal storage space.
• Highest Rated – Keep original-quality copies of all photos, videos, and documents rated with four or five stars or marked with a Pick flag. Other media can be synced on-demand from another device with Mylio Photos+ installed and running. Using the Highest Rated Device Sync Policy works well for portfolio devices such as tablets or smartphones when you want to have your best photos available at the highest quality at all times.
• Photos Only – Keep original-quality copies of all your photos on this device (as space is available). Videos and Documents will be stored on your other devices and can be synced on-demand from another device with Mylio Photos+ installed and running.
• SpaceSaver – Only keep Optimized Images on this device. Original-quality files, videos, and documents will be stored on your other devices and can be synced on-demand from another device with Mylio Photos+ installed and running. Space Saver is the default setting and is best for devices with limited storage space, such as laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
• Travel Backup – Keep original-quality copies of all media from the last three months on this device. Older media will be stored on your other devices and can be synced on-demand from another device with Mylio Photos+ installed and running. Having at least one device designated for travel backup while away from home or office can protect your most recent media.
• Vault – Keep a complete copy of your library on this device. Files are stored at full resolution. Vault devices are ideal for backup and protection. We recommend that all users have at least two (2) Vault devices to protect against device failure or loss.

4. Mylio Photos+ will automatically start syncing the selected device based on your chosen preset.

*NOTE: If you’ve previously used Tap to Sync to set a custom sync policy for specific folders, the selected preset will show as an asterisk * next to the preset name. Custom sync policies set with Tap to Sync will be preserved; however, if you prefer to switch your entire library to the new sync policy, click or tap the button at the bottom of the screen to Clear Legacy Folder Policies.
