Remove vs. Delete Options

As you add media to Mylio Photos, you may find files that don’t belong in your Mylio Photos Library. Mylio Photos’ direct control over your file system allows you to remove a folder and its contents from your Library (or delete it, when necessary).

*NOTE: Only top-level folders can be removed. For example, if you have a folder called Animals, and it includes two sub-folders called Zebras and Elephants, you can’t remove the Elephants folder without removing the top-level Animals folder (and its other sub-folders) as well.

Removing a Folder (and its Contents) From Mylio Photos

When you Remove a folder from Mylio Photos, the folder and its contents will no longer be displayed in your Mylio Photos Library and will not be available to sync between your devices. However, that folder will still be on your hard drive and accessible via your system’s file browser.

1. Open Mylio Photos and go to the Folders View.
2. Select a top-level folder to remove.
3. Open the Actions Menu in the Quick Actions Bar and select Remove Folder from Catalog.

*TIP: You can also remove a Folder from Mylio Photos by right-clicking on the Folder you want remove and choosing Remove Folder from Catalog.

Deleting a Folder (and its Contents) From Mylio Photos

When you Delete a folder from Mylio Photos, the folder and its contents will be removed from your computer and all devices added to your Mylio Account.

!WARNING: Deleting a folder or file is a permanent action and cannot be undone. The folder and its contents will be removed from your file system and all devices associated with your Mylio Account, including all Vaults.

1. Open Mylio Photos and go to the Folders View.
2. Select a folder to delete.
3. Press the Delete key on the keyboard or open the Actions Menu in the Quick Actions Bar and select Delete Folder.

*TIP: You can also delete a Folder from Mylio by right-clicking on the Folder you want to delete and choosing Delete Folder.
