As you add and import media to your Mylio Photos Library using the Copy or Move options, you have the option to include additional metadata such as:

Add Creator and Copyright Information During Import

By default, adding an IPTC Card on Import is hidden but can be enabled under Settings > Advanced. Click here to learn how to set up an IPTC card with your creator and copyright information.

  1. From the Copy/Move dialog, click Show Advanced Settings, then scroll down.
  2. Toggle the switch next to Apply IPTC card on import to the ON position.

Rename Files During Import
  1. From the Copy/Move dialog, click Show Advanced Settings, then scroll down.
  2. Mylio Photos will import media with their existing file names by default. If you’d prefer to rename your files, click Keep existing file names next to File naming.
  3. Choose from the following options:
    • Prefix-Sequence, Year-Month-Day-Sequence, Year-Month-Sequence, Camera-Sequence, or Custom.

Organize Files into Folders During Import
  1. From the Copy/Move dialog, click Show Advanced Settings, then scroll down.
  2. By default, Mylio Photos will Move or Copy the folder with its current name into your chosen location. If you’d prefer to reorganize its contents, click Add selected folder as new item next to Folder Organization.
  3. Choose from the following options:
    • Add contents of selected folder will copy/move the individual files in the selected folder to your selected destination.
    • Automatically organize the individual files contained in the selected folders into sub-folders using one of the following formats: Year/Month/Day, Year/Month, Year, Day, Current Date, or Custom.

Add Keywords During Import
  1. From the Copy/Move dialog, click Show Advanced Settings, then scroll down.
  2. If desired, toggle the switch next to Add folder name to keywords to automatically include the name of the folder being imported as a keyword.
  3. In the keywords field, enter words or phrases that describe the media in your import. Separate each keyword or phrase with a comma. (e.g., dog, canine, golden retriever)
