Browse the Map View

Mylio Photos’ Map view shows your geotagged photos pinned to a map. Many cameras, including most smartphones, can record GPS location data when a photo is captured. Mylio Photos uses that information to create your Map view automatically. If you have photos without GPS data, you can easily add a location to the images so they appear in the Map view.

1. Click the Map icon in the left sidebar.
2. Zoom in to see additional detail and more precise locations.
   • Using a touchscreen or a trackpad – Zoom using a pinch-in and pinch-out gesture.
   • Using a mouse – Click the plus and minus icons at the bottom of the map to Zoom in and out. You can also use the Zoom slider located in the right sidebar.
3. Search for a specific location by clicking into the Find Location field at the top of the map.
4. Filter for a location by clicking on the Navigation icon in the left sidebar.
   • Use the View by option to sort the list by Name (Alphabetical) or by Media Count.
   • Enter a location into the Filter list by place name field, or click on a disclosure arrow to expand each country, region, and city.
   • Click on the location you want to view to zoom the map to the selected area automatically.
5. To view a set of pinned photos, click or tap on the thumbnail pin to view the photos in a grid.
6. To adjust the placement of a pin tap and hold or right-click on the pin.
   • Remove GPS will delete the location information for the selected photos.
   • Edit Location will allow you to move and adjust the placement of the pin on the map. When you’re satisfied with the placement, click the green checkmark on the pin to confirm. To cancel placement, click the red X .

!NOTE: Copying and pasting a full street address with traditional line breaks into the Map’s search bar will return unexpected results. Please enter addresses on one line only.

*TIP: Quickly view your photo(s) on a map and find exact GPS coordinates in the Places section of the Info Panel in the right panel.

*TIP: View a summary of photos by country, state, and city in Dashboard > Library Stats > Places.

*TIP: Quickly jump to the Map view using the keyboard shortcut ctrl + 3 (Windows) or command + 3 (macOS).

*TIP: Quickly find a specific location on the map. Use the keyboard shortcut ctrl + F (Windows) or command + F (macOS) to open the Find Location dialog. Type in your search, then click Enter or Return on the keyboard. The map will automatically zoom in to the location you entered.

Change the Map Style

1. Click the Map icon in the left sidebar.
2. Click the ellipsis icon in the top app bar to access the More menu.
3. Choose Map Style, then select Standard, Satellite Hybrid, or Topographical.
