Mylio Photos’ settings offer several options to adjust facial recognition settings to fit your workflow. Click the ellipsis icon in the top app bar to access the More menu and choose Settings, then select Advanced.

Enable or Disable Face Detection

Face detection in Mylio Photos is ON by default, but you can choose to turn it off.

  1. Click the OFF button under Face Detection.
  2. You can re-enable it anytime by clicking the ON button.

Restrict Face Detection on Battery

Face Detection in Mylio Photos requires additional energy, which can cause your device’s battery to drain faster. For devices such as laptops, tablets, and smartphones, you can limit Face Detection to times when your device is connected to power.

  1. Toggle the switch next to Restrict Face Detection on Battery to the ON position.
  2. You can turn off this setting anytime by toggling the switch to the OFF position.

Enable or Disable Auto-Tagging

Mylio Photos’ Auto-Tagging helps make identifying faces faster and easier. However, this functionality can be turned off if desired.

  1. Toggle the switch next to Enable Auto-Tagging to the OFF position.
  2. You can re-enable Auto-Tagging anytime by toggling the switch to the ON position.

Face Recognition Proposals

As you add face tags, Mylio Photos will locate additional photos that appear to be the same person and Auto-Tag them. This is also known as a Face Recognition Proposal. Mylio Photos lets you set a threshold for these proposals, ranging from a higher number of proposals (with lower accuracy) to a lower number of proposals (with higher accuracy).

  1. Adjust the slider under Face Recognition Proposals.
    • Moving the slider to the right will propose fewer but more accurate results.
    • Moving the slider to the left will propose more but less accurate results.
  2. Click the Default button to reset the Face Recognition Proposals to the default setting.

Minimum Batch Size for Batch Face Tagging

Batch Face Tagging groups similar faces to make tagging quick and easy. By default, Mylio Photos considers a group to be two (2) or more images, but the group size can be adjusted to fit your workflow.

  1. By default, small batches are grouped. To turn off this setting, toggle the switch next to Merge Small Batches to the OFF position.
  2. Adjust the Minimum Batch Size slider to increase or decrease the minimum number of images shown as a batch.

Keyboard Shortcuts for Face Tagging

Using keyboard shortcuts when face tagging can help you tag photos quickly and easily. Keyboard shortcuts for face tagging are OFF by default but can be easily enabled.

  1. Toggle the switch next to When typing names enable 1-5 shortcuts to the ON position.
  2. Next time you click on the question mark icon under a face, you can use the keyboard to select options 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 to choose a name from the list or type 0 to ignore the face.
