Using Tap to Categorize

Tap-to-Categorize is the fastest way to categorize Folders, Albums, and People, allowing you to assign a primary category for each container. A container (e.g., Folder, Album, Person) can be assigned multiple categories by choosing the Custom Category option. When a category is added to a photo, video, or document, it will remain attached to that file, even if moved to a different folder.

Click on the Tap to Categorize icon on a Folder, Album, or Person, and choose a Category.

Tap to Categorize Folders

1. Click Folders icon in the left sidebar.
2. Select a folder, then click on the Tap-to-Categorize icon . If a primary category has been previously chosen for the selected folder, the icon may be one of the other annotations listed above.
3. Select None, Personal, Family, Work, Private, or Custom to assign a primary category for the selected folder.
   • If Custom is chosen, the Categories list will open. Select one or more categories, then click the Apply button.

Tap to Categorize Albums

1. Click the Albums icon in the left sidebar.
2. Select an Album, then click on the Tap-to-Categorize icon . If a primary category has been previously chosen for the selected Album, the icon may be one of the other annotations listed above.
3. Select None, Personal, Family, Work, Private, or Custom to assign a primary category for the selected Album.
   • If Custom is chosen, the Categories list will open. Select one or more categories, then click the Apply button.

Tap to Categorize People

1. Click the People icon in the left sidebar.
2. Select an person, then click on the Tap-to-Categorize icon . If a primary category has been previously chosen for the selected person, the icon may be one of the other annotations listed above.
3. Select None, Personal, Family, Work, Private, or Custom to assign a primary category for the selected Album.
   • If Custom is chosen, the Categories list will open. Select one or more categories, then click the Apply button.
