Add Mylio Drive+ with SecureCloud Storage

Mylio Drive+ offers privacy-focused storage, catering to individuals seeking cloud-like functionality with enhanced data security and confidentiality. This solution prioritizes user privacy and is a reliable offsite storage option for safeguarding cherished memories and important digital assets against potential data loss.

Mylio Drive+ requires a SecureCloud storage plan add-on to your Mylio Photos+ membership to sync original-quality photos, videos, or documents. Your storage plan can be smaller than your entire library.

• Mylio Drive+ is powered by Backblaze, one of the most reliable and secure hosting networks.
• Mylio Drive+ is encrypted. All files you sync with Mylio Drive+ are encrypted and can only be viewed or accessed by devices signed into your Mylio account.
• Mylio Drive+ supports original-quality photos, videos, and documents. While Mylio Drive only supports optimized photos, Mylio Drive+ can store any supported files you’ve added to your Mylio Photos library.
• Mylio Drive+ offers precision syncing. You can choose which files to store in the Cloud based on multiple criteria, such as ratings, labels, stars, folders, date, file type, file size, or category. Use the new SyncCollections tool to configure this in the Device Sync Policies section of the Dashboard for Mylio Drive+.

Adding Mylio Drive+ as a Vault

Adding Mylio Drive+ as a Vault is an excellent way to protect your entire Mylio Photos Library by creating an offsite copy of your original-quality photos, videos, documents, and metadata. In addition to facilitating on-the-go access to your original-quality media, Mylio Drive+, when configured as a Vault, creates an offsite version that can restore your library in worst-case scenarios (such as fire, other natural disaster, theft, device failure, etc.) in your home or primary workspace.

1. Click the Dashboard icon  in the left sidebar.
2. Select Devices, click the Add Vault button at the top of the Devices section, and then click Continue.
3. Note the current size of your Mylio Photos Library and the suggested Vault size, then click Continue.
4. Select Mylio Drive+, then click the Choose a Plan button. This will open your default web browser, and you can purchase a SecureCloud plan.

5. Purchase a storage plan that matches the size of your current library with a little room to grow.
6. Once your purchase is complete, you can return to the Mylio Photos application, then click Looks Good to confirm the Vault setup for Mylio Drive+.

7. Congratulations! MylioDrive+ is now enabled and will begin syncing your library automatically. You can monitor the progress in the Activities section of the Sync Panel.

Creating a Custom Setup with Mylio Drive+

Mylio Drive+ can be configured to sync everything in your Mylio Photos Library (as with the Vault setup above), or you can choose which media is stored online and protected offsite. Perhaps you have sensitive data that cannot be stored in the Cloud, or your library is large, and the cost to store everything is not friendly to your budget. Regardless of the reason, Mylio Photos makes it simple to customize what you store on Mylio Drive+.

Mylio Photos+ has several sync policy presets you can apply when setting up Mylio Drive+. If you prefer more granular control, choose the Catalog Only sync policy preset and customize the specific synced media using a SyncCollection.

1. Click the Dashboard icon  in the left sidebar.
2. Select Devices.
   • If you haven’t yet enabled Mylio Drive to sync optimized-quality images, click the Enable Mylio Drive button at the top of the Devices section, then confirm that you’d like to Enable Mylio Drive.
   • If you’ve already enabled Mylio Drive to sync optimized images, click the Add button at the top of the Devices section, and then click Continue and select Mylio Drive+.
3. Click the Choose a Plan button. This will open your default web browser, and you can purchase a SecureCloud storage plan.
4. Once your purchase is complete, you can return to the Mylio Photos application. Mylio Photos will recommend a setup based on your library size and the available SecureCloud storage in your chosen plan. Click on Custom Setup to choose a different option.
5. Under Customize Your Setup select a sync policy preset, then click Looks Good. Here are a few options that are commonly used with Cloud storage:
   • Travel Backup – This option will keep original-quality copies of all media from the last three months on Mylio Drive+. Older media will be stored locally on other devices.
   • Photos Only – This option keeps original-quality copies of all photos on Mylio Drive+. Videos and documents are stored locally on other devices.
   • Highest Rated – This option keeps original-quality copies of all photos, videos, and documents rated with four or five stars or marked with a pick flag on Mylio Drive+. It is a good option for budget-conscious users who want to keep their best/favorite photos backed up to the Cloud and preserve the rest of their library locally.
   • Catalog Only – This option keeps thumbnails and metadata for each photo and is the ideal choice for a user who wants to use SyncCollections for granular control.
6. Congratulations! Mylio Drive+ is now enabled and will begin syncing your library automatically. You can monitor the progress in the Activities section of the Sync Panel.

*NOTE: To change the information syncing to Mylio Drive+, go to the Dashboard and select Mylio Drive+ from the Devices section. Click on Device Sync Policies, then choose an alternate preset or apply any desired changes.

Removing Mylio Drive+ and SecureCloud Storage

If you decide to stop using Mylio Drive+ with SecureCloud Storage, please follow the instructions here to remove and unregister Mylio Drive+ from the Mylio Photos application before removing it from your account.
