Mylio Photos keeps your library synchronized automatically across all your devices. The tools in this section help you see which devices are fully synced, which devices need media, and how your fiels are moving across your devices as syncing continues.
Where to Monitor Sync
The best place to monitor sync activity in Mylio Photos is the Devices Panel in the Dashboard. The Devices Panel is designed to give you a clear, real-time picture of what each device is doing and how your library is progressing toward a complete sync.
Click the Dashboard icon in the left sidebar, then choose Devices.
Here you’ll see every device connected to your Mylio Photos account, along with a snapshot of its current status. Device Cards show whether a device is in sync, whether it needs media, and whether it holds a full copy of your library as a Vault.
Understanding Sync Indicators on Device Cards
Each device card includes clear visual indicators:
The device is fully synced.
The device needs media from another device.
The device is a Vault.
The numbers shown next to this icon represent how many items are still pending sync for that device.
- Other notification with additional information such as unprotected media, storage limits, syncing disabled, plan expired, or upgrade required.
These indicators help you understand what Mylio Photos is doing behind the scenes.
Opening Syncing Details for More Information
For more in-depth information, hover your mouse over the bottom half of a device card. When the syncing area highlights, click it to open Syncing Details.
File Count Summary
If any items still need to sync, the top section lists how many files remain, grouped by file type, such as:
- Total Files to Sync
XMP files
Thumbnails
Optimized Images
Original-quality Files
Display Images
- Files needed from online devices
- Files needed from offline devices
- New items to sync
- Existing items that need updates
Click any number to view the related media. To return to the Syncing Details panel, click the back arrow in the upper-left corner.
Where Files Are Located
This part of Syncing Details shows where the media that are still needed currently exist. It helps you understand which devices hold the files and how close each device is to completing its sync. For example, if you open Syncing Details on your computer and click to view details for your phone and Mylio Photos is not open in the foreground on your phone, all other devices will appear as offline.
This section shows each device, its connection status, and the number of files it contains that are needed by the selected device. You might see:
- File Count – The number of files that need to sync.
- Catalog Stamping – Preparing the catalog so syncing can begin.
- Catalog Syncing – Syncing your library’s organization details (titles, captions, keywords, face tags, etc.).
- Files Syncing – Syncing the actual photos and videos.
Example: If your tabelt needs 200 original files and those originals exist only on your desktop computer, the computer will show a file count of 200, and when both the desktop computer and tablet are online, Mylio Photos automatically transfers those originals until the tablet is fully synced.
Bringing Devices Online
Syncing continues whenever at least one device that holds the needed files is available. Each device type connects a little differently, so availability may look different depending on what you’re using. For example, if your laptop needs photos that are stored on an external drive, syncing won’t begin until the drive is plugged in. Once connected, Mylio Photos resume syncing automatically.
Computers
- Mylio Photos must be open.
- The application may run in the background or minimized.
Mobile Devices (phones and tablets)
- Mylio Photos must be open and running in the foreground.
- If you switch apps or if the device goes to sleep, syncing pauses and the device shows as offline.
Directly Connected External Storage
The storage device must be physically connected to a computer, phone, or tablet running Mylio Photos.
NAS and Cloud Devices
- A stable internet connection is required.
- The device must appear as Online in the Devices panel.
Once the appropriate devices are available, syncing resumes automatically
