In Mylio Photos, you can quickly and easily import media to your Mylio Photos Library from your computer or connected storage such as an external drive or NAS.
To add a folder of media, click on the Add Media icon in the top app bar. Select the folder you wish to add, then follow the on-screen instructions to Copy Folder Contents, Move Folder Contents, or Link Folder.
Copy Folder Contents
- What it does: Copies the folder’s files (and any subfolders) to a location already managed by Mylio Photos.
- In Mylio Photos: You get a duplicate set of the original photos, which are now inside Mylio’s managed folders.
- Best for: Backing up files or consolidating photos into your Mylio Photos library while keeping the originals untouched.
Move Folder Contents
- What it does: Moves the files (and any subfolders) from their current location into a folder already managed by Mylio Photos.
- In Mylio Photos: The original files are relocated, freeing up space at their original location on disk.
- Best for: Organizing and cleaning up your photo storage while centralizing your media.
Link Folder
- What it does: Keeps the folder and its contents exactly where they are on your hard drive.
- In Mylio Photos: The folder and all its images will appear inside Mylio Photos, but nothing is moved or copied on your disk. A linked folder appears at the top-level of Folder view. Any files you move into the folder using Mylio Photos (on any device) will be moved to that location on disk.
- Best for: Reusing an existing disk that is already organized.
To add individual photos, videos or documents to your Mylio Photos Library, you can use Drag and Drop or simply place the file into your Mylio InBox.
