Spaces provide a powerful way to organize your Mylio Photos library into clean, purpose-driven views. Each Space displays only the media associated with specific Categories, helping you declutter your workspace and focus on what matters most—whether that’s personal memories, family history, or work projects.

Spaces also offer robust privacy and security options. You can use Passcodes to restrict access and, with a Family or Team plan, control what other users on your account can see and do across devices. Because Spaces are Category-based, assigning content to a Space is as simple as tagging a File, Folder, Album, or Person with the appropriate Category.

Mylio Photos comes pre-loaded with several default Spaces:

  • Public – Shows all media except items tagged with Private.
  • Personal – Shows media tagged with Personal or Family, excluding Private.
  • Family – Shows media tagged with Family, excluding Private. (Mylio Photos+ only)
  • Family History – Shows media tagged with Family History, excluding Private.
  • Work – Shows media tagged with Work, excluding Private. (Mylio Photos+ only)
  • Private – Shows only media tagged with Private.
  • Guest – Provides restricted, read-only access for safe device sharing.
  • Everything – Displays all media, including items tagged with Private.

In addition to these built-in options, Mylio Photos+ users can create Custom Spaces to support their unique workflows.

  • Individual plan users can create personal Spaces using QuickCollections and customized views to stay organized.
  • Family and Team plan users gain access to advanced permission controls, allowing them to share selected Spaces with trusted collaborators and manage what each person can access or modify—on a per-device basis.

Viewing and Switching Between Spaces

When you first launch Mylio Photos, you’ll start in the Everything Space, which displays all media in your library, including items marked Private.

To switch to a different Space:

  1. Click the Spaces icon in the left sidebar.
  2. If prompted, review the welcome message and click Continue.
  3. Select the Space you want to view.

Depending on your privacy settings, you may be asked to create or enter a 4-digit passcode when accessing certain Spaces.

  • Locked Spaces (require a passcode) are indicated by a closed lock icon.
  • Unlocked Spaces (no passcode required) are shown with an open lock icon.
