If you use Apple Photos for macOS, or have used it in the past, you may notice that Mylio Photos’ terminology is similar. The definitions below will help you better understand the differences between the two applications. Albums in Photos are like Albums in Mylio Photos. Albums allow you to group and organize photos without affecting their location on your hard drive. Albums are virtual collections, like a playlist for your photos. One photo can be assigned to multiple albums.
Edit in Photos allows you to edit photos. Mylio Photos’ editing tools can be found in the Edit Panel in the right panel. Mylio Photos contains essential editing tools that work equally well on your computer and mobile devices.
People is Photos’ face recognition tool. Mylio Photos has a separate People view that allows you to view and organize photos of family and friends. As you start tagging the people in your photos, Mylio Photos’ facial recognition will help you tag them in future photos.
Places in Photos is like Mylio Photos’ Map view which organizes photos by location on a world map. Mylio Photos does this automatically for photos that have GPS metadata. You can also add missing geolocation information.
Favorites is Photos’ rating system. Mylio Photos’ ratings include Flags, Stars, and Color Labels for additional layers or organization. If you prefer a simple approach, Flags most closely matches the Favorites method.
Info in Photos shows limited metadata about your images. In Mylio Photos, you have access to extensive metadata via the Info Panel in the right panel.
