Album organization in Mylio Photos is virtual, meaning a single photo can exist in multiple Albums or Sub-Albums without duplicating or moving the original file. Nested Sub-Albums provide an additional layer of structure, making it easier to group related images. Here are a few examples of how Sub-Albums can be useful:

Creating a Sub-Album
- Double-click the Albums icon
in the left sidebar to navigate to the Albums View.
- Open the Album where you want to create a Sub-Album.
- Choose one of the following methods:
- Click the Add New Album icon
in the right sidebar.
- Click the Navigation icon
in the left sidebar to view Albums in a tree structure, then click the New Album button.
- Go to Organize > New Album from the operating system menu bar.
- Right-click the parent Album (or select the parent Album, then click the Actions menu icon
in the right sidebar) and select New Album.
- Click the Add New Album icon
- Enter an Album Name, assign one or more Categories (optional), then click Create.
Moving and Organizing Sub-Albums
Convert a Top-Level Album into a Sub-Album
- Use Drag and Drop – Click and drag an Album onto another Album in the Album Tree or directly in the grid to nest it as a Sub-Album.
Convert a Sub-Album into a Top-Level Album
- Click and drag the Sub-Album to the bottom of the screen. This will automatically place it in the QuickAlbum.
- Navigate to the top level of the Albums View by double-clicking the Albums icon
in the left sidebar.
- Locate the Sub-Album in the QuickAlbum at the bottom of the screen, then drag and drop it into an open space in the Albums View to convert it into a top-level Album.
Move Albums Using the QuickAlbum
The QuickAlbum is a convenient tool that allows you to temporarily store photos when working with Albums.
- Click and drag the Album or Sub-Album you want to move to the bottom of the screen. This will automatically open QuickAlbum.
- Alternatively, you can right-click on an Album and choose Add to > QuickAlbum.
- Navigate to another Album or the top-level Albums view where you want to move the Album.
- Click and drag the Album from QuickAlbum at the bottom of the screen to its new location.
- When you’re done, clear QuickAlbum to close it.
Adding Media to an Album Using Drag-and-Drop
You can add media to another Album without removing it from the original Album by following these steps:
- Open the Album that contains the image(s) you want to add elsewhere.
- Select one or more images.
- Click the Navigation icon
in the left sidebar to display the Album Tree.
- Drag the selected images to the destination Album in the Album Tree, then drop them onto that Album.
