Most settings in Mylio Photos are adjusted within the application window. Some controls, however, are provided by the operating system and are accessed through the operating system menu bar on macOS, Windows, and iPadOS 26 or later.

Mylio Photos Menu (macOS and iPadOS only)

  • About Mylio Photos – View information about the Mylio Photos app, including the currently installed version.
  • Check for Updates – Check for available updates to Mylio Photos.
  • Settings – Open the main settings dialog for Mylio Photos
  • Services – Access operating system–level services provided by macOS or iPadOS.
  • Hide Mylio Photos – Hide the Mylio Photos application window.
  • Hide Others – Hide all other application windows except Mylio Photos.
  • Show All – Show all open application windows.
  • Quit Mylio Photos – Close the Mylio Photos application and all currently running Mylio Photos–related processes.

File Menu

  • Add Media – Import photos, videos, and documents from your computer, external drive, camera, memory card, or supported online services.
  • Guided Import – Use the guided import checklist to add media to your Mylio Photos Library.
  • Export – Export a copy of selected media in various sizes and formats to an internal or external drive.
  • Share – Share selected photos by email, social media, printing services, exporting to disk, and more.
  • Get Info – Open the Info panel and display metadata for the selected media.
  • Show in Explorer (Windows only) – Show the selected media in your operating system’s file manager.
  • Show in Finder (macOS only) – Show the selected media in your operating system’s file manager.
  • Show in External – Show the selected media on an attached Vault device.
  • Add Device – Add a Mylio-connected device such as an external drive, NAS, mobile device, computer, or supported cloud service.
  • Clear Cache – Manually remove cached files if your device is running low on storage.
  • Page Setup (macOS & Windows only) – Manage your operating system’s print options.
  • Print (macOS & Windows only) – Print selected media using your operating system’s print options.
  • Close Mylio Photos (macOS & Windows only) – Close the Mylio Photos window without quitting the application.
  • Exit (Windows only) – Close the Mylio Photos application and all currently running Mylio Photos–related processes.

Edit Menu

  • Undo – Undo the most recent action.
  • Redo – Redo the most recent action.
  • Cut (iPadOS only) – Remove the selected text or media and place it on the system clipboard.
  • Copy – Copy the selected text or media to the system clipboard.
  • Paste – Paste cut or copied content into a text field.
  • Paste and Match Style (iPadOS only) – Paste text without preserving the original formatting.
  • Delete (iPadOS only) – Delete the selected item or text.
  • Find – Open the Find tool to locate a specific item in the current view.
  • Add to QuickAlbum – Add selected media to the QuickAlbum.
  • Select All – Select all media in the current view.
  • Select None (macOS & Windows only) – Deselect all previously selected media.
  • Writing Tools (macOS and iPadOS only) – Access operating system–provided writing tools.
  • Autofill (macOS and iPadOS only) – Automatically fill text fields using contact information.
  • Start Dictation (macOS and iPadOS only) – Use the operating system’s dictation tool to enter text.
  • Emoji & Symbols (macOS and iPadOS only) – Insert emoji and symbols into text fields.
  • Show Keyboard (iPadOS only) – Display the on-screen keyboard.
  • Settings (Windows only) – Open the main settings dialog for Mylio Photos.

Organize Menu

  • New – Create a new Event, Person, Album, or Folder.
  • New Folder with Selection (folders view) – Create a new folder and place all currently selected media into it.
  • New Event with Selection – Create a new Event using the timestamps of the currently selected media.
  • Open… – Open the selected file, Folder, or Album.
  • Rename… – Rename the selected file, Folder, or Album. If multiple items are selected, the batch rename tool opens.
  • Move to Folder – Move selected media to a different folder. Moving media between folders in Mylio Photos physically moves the files in your computer’s file system.
  • Add to Album – Add selected media to an existing or new Album.
  • Move to Album (Albums View) – Move selected media from one Album to another.
  • Organize Folders – Automatically consolidate folders by grouping photos and videos based on their metadata.
  • Remove Folder from Library/Catalog (Folders View) – Remove the selected folder from Mylio Photos without deleting it from the file system.
  • Hide Folder(s) – Mark selected folders with the Private category. Hidden folders are visible only in the Everything or Private Space.
  • Unhide Folder(s) – Remove the Private category from the selected folders.
  • Delete File – Permanently delete the selected media from Mylio Photos and the file system.
  • Delete Rejected Photos – Permanently delete media marked with a Reject Flag in the current view.
  • Locate Missing Folder (Folders View) – Reassociate a folder that has been moved to a new location in your file system.
  • Scan for Changes – Rescan the selected folder for changes in the file system.
  • Photo DeDupe (macOS and Windows only) – Launch the Photo DeDupe tool to help find and remove duplicate photos.
  • Photo DeClutter (macOS and Windows only) – Launch the Photo DeClutter tool to help find and remove similar photos.
  • QuickReview – Enter QuickReview mode to remove distractions and focus on rating images.

Photo Menu

  • Edit – Open the Edit tab in the right panel.
  • Open with (most recently used external editor) (macOS and Windows only) – Open the selected media in the most recently used external editor.
  • Open with (macOS and Windows only) – Open the selected media using another external editor installed on your computer.
  • Save Metadata to File (macOS and Windows only) – Write metadata to JPG image files, including EXIF data (from the camera), title, caption, keywords, star rating, copyright, IPTC creator fields, face tags, and location information.
  • Add Category – Add one or more categories to the selected media.
  • Shift dates – Adjust the date and time by a set amount. This is useful for correcting time-zone issues.
  • Rotate Left – Rotate selected images 90 degrees to the left.
  • Rotate Right – Rotate selected images 90 degrees to the right.
  • Flip Horizontal – Flip selected images horizontally.
  • Flip Vertical – Flip selected images vertically.
  • Show Clipping – Highlight clipped areas in images by overlaying red (highlights) and blue (shadows).
  • AutoEnhance – Apply the AutoEnhance preset to the selected media.
  • AutoColor – Apply the AutoColor preset to the selected media.
  • AutoTone – Apply the AutoTone preset to the selected media.
  • Invert – Invert negative colors, such as scanned film negatives, to display them as positives.
  • Crop and Rotate – Open the selected image in the crop and rotate tool.
  • Red Eye – Open the red-eye removal tool for the selected image.
  • Show Original (macOS and Windows only) – Temporarily hide edits to compare the edited and original versions of an image.
  • Copy All Edits – Copy all edits from the selected image.
  • Paste All Edits – Paste copied edits onto the selected image.
  • Reset All Edits – Remove all edits and return the selected media to its original state.
  • Duplicate – Create a duplicate copy of the selected media.
  • Set as Cover – Set the selected photo as the cover image for a Folder, Album, or Event.
  • Show Rating – Show or hide star ratings, color labels, flag indicators, and the edit indicator icon.
  • Show Tap to Sync – Enable Tap to Sync in the Folders view to override the device’s Sync Policy for individual folders and customize quality settings per device.
  • Show Face Tagging – Display tagged and untagged faces in Single Photo view.
  • Show GPS – Display a GPS pin on images that contain location data.
  • Hide Photo – Mark the selected photo with the Private category and hide it from view. Hidden photos can be accessed from the Everything or Private Space.
  • Unhide Photo – Remove the Private category from the selected photo.
  • Ignore Untagged Faces – Remove face tag suggestions from all untagged faces in the image.
  • Flag – Add or remove a flag on the selected media.
  • Set Rating – Add or remove a star rating from the selected media.
  • Set Color Label – Add or remove a color label from the selected media.

View Menu

  • Spaces – Switch between available Spaces.
  • All Photos – Display every photo in your Mylio Photos Library.
  • LifeCalendar – Organize your library by capture date and display images on a calendar. LifeCalendar can highlight key events and link directly to related albums.
  • Map – Organize and view photos by location on a world map using GPS metadata.
  • People – Organize photos by the people in them. Mylio Photos automatically creates albums for tagged individuals and uses facial recognition to assist with future tagging.
  • Albums – Group and organize photos without changing their file location. Albums are virtual collections, similar to playlists. A single photo can appear in multiple albums.
  • Folders – View your library based on the folder structure on your computer and connected external drives.
  • Dashboard – Open the Dashboard to manage devices, syncing, and other essential tasks.
  • Last Media Added – Show the most recently added or imported media.
  • Dynamic Search – Open Dynamic Search.
  • Workflows – Switch between available workflows.
  • Sort by – Change the sort order of the current view.
  • Zoom In – Zoom in on the current view.
  • Zoom Out – Zoom out of the current view.
  • Zoom to Actual Pixels – Zoom to 100% in Single Photo view.
  • Fit to Screen – Adjust the zoom level to fit the image to the display in Single Photo view.
  • Play Slideshow – Play visible media as a slideshow.
  • Filmstrip – Show or hide the filmstrip.
  • Full Screen (macOS and Windows only) – Enter full screen mode.
  • Chromeless – Hide all Mylio Photos control panels.
  • Show Fuzzy Dated Items – Show or hide images in the Calendar day view that have approximate or missing dates.
  • Show Rejected Photos – Show or hide photos marked with a Reject Flag.
  • Reset All Views – Clear all QuickFilters, return to the Everything Space (may require the Master Passcode), and switch to the All Tools workflow.

Window Menu

  • Close (iPadOS only) – Close the current Mylio Photos window.
  • Minimize (macOS and iPadOS only) – Minimize the Mylio Photos Application Window.
  • Exit Full Screen (iPadOS only) – Exit full-screen mode.
  • Zoom (macOS only) – Resize the Mylio Photos application window to fit the display.
  • Fill (macOS only) – Resize the window to fill available screen space without entering full screen.
  • Center (macOS and iPadOS only) – Center the application window on the screen.
  • Move and Resize (macOS and iPadOS only) – Manually reposition and resize the application window.
  • Slide Over (iPadOS only) – Move the window into Slide Over mode.
  • Move to Display (iPadOS only) – Move the application window to another display.
  • Fill Screen Tile (macOS only) – Tile the application window to fill part of the screen.
  • Remove Window from Set (macOS only) – Remove the application window from the current window set.
  • * Move To* (macOS only) – Move the application window to another space or display.
  • Left Panel – Show or hide the left panel.
  • Right Panel – Show or hide the right panel.
  • QuickAlbum – Show or hide the QuickAlbum.
  • All Panels – Show or hide all panels in the application window.
  • Right Panel Tabs – Show or hide individual panels within the right panel.
  • Info – Display the Info panel in the right panel.
  • Edit – Display the Edit panel in the right panel.
  • Storage – Display the Storage panel in the right panel.
  • Sync (macOS and WIndows only) – Display the Sync panel in the right panel.
