Choosing a Vault

When choosing a device to serve as your Vault, it’s important to consider the size of your Mylio Library. Your Mylio Vault can be any device or cloud storage with enough space to store your entire Mylio Library.

Popular options include external hard drives, NAS devices, RAID (redundant array of independent disks) devices, and cloud services such as Amazon, Microsoft OneDrive, or Google Drive. Learn more about data storage options here.

To add a device as a Vault:

1. Open the Dashboard view
   

2. Select Add Device from the Actions section or select Add from the Devices section.

3. Choose from the following options, keeping in mind that the device you’re choosing must have enough available storage for your entire Mylio Library.
   1. External Drive
   2. Cloud Service
   3. NAS
   4. Phone or Tablet
   5. Computer

4. Once a device has been selected, Mylio will guide you through the setup process.

!NOTE: If you plan to use an external drive or NAS, be sure to use a computer to set up these devices.

!NOTE: To designate your primary computer as a Vault, adjust the Device Quality Settings in the Dashboard. If you want to designate a second computer as a Vault, choose Save originals to this device when you add the computer as a new device. If the second computer has already been added, you can adjust the Device Quality Settings in the Dashboard.
