Automatically Create Events

By far the easiest way to add Events to Mylio is to link a digital calendar. Visit Understanding Linked Calendars for more information.

Manually Create Events

  1. Open Mylio and go to the Calendar view.
  2. Locate and select the day, month, or year you wish to add an event to.
  3. Open the Info Panel in the Details Panel, then click or tap the + icon in the Events section to create a new Event.

  1. In the Event dialog, enter additional information about your Event.
    • Cover Photo – Click on the Event thumbnail to choose a cover photo for your Event.
    • From/To – Adjust the date(s) for the Event.
    • Title – Name the Event as you wish it to appear in your Life Calendar™.
    • Description – Add an optional description of your Event.
    • Categories – Add optional Categories for your Event.
    • Priority – Adjusting the priority of an event tells Mylio how to rank this Event compared to other Events. Life Events are assigned the highest priority.
    • Autoplay Slideshow – When turned ON, Mylio will automatically start a slideshow of the Event.
    • Scoped by – Choose Date or Folder to populate the Event (i.e., all photos from a particular date or all photos from a specific Folder.)

  1. Click/tap Save to create the Event

Create Events from Folders

Adding Events from Folders is a quick and easy way to populate your Life Calendar™. Mylio can use photo metadata from the images in a folder to establish a start and end date for a new Event based on those parameters.

  1. Open Mylio, go to the Folder View and select a Folder.
  2. Open the Info Panel in the Details Panel and scroll down to the Categories section.
  3. Toggle the Show Folder as Calendar Event option to the ON position to expand the Event options.

  1. Enter additional information about your Event.
    • Cover Photo – Click on the Event thumbnail to choose a cover photo for your event.
    • Event Name – Give your Event the name you wish to see displayed in your Calendar.
    • Description – Add an optional description of your Event.
    • Priority – Adjusting the priority of an Event tells Mylio how to rank this Event compared to other Events. Life Events are assigned the highest priority.
    • Autoplay Slideshow – When turned ON, Mylio will automatically start a slideshow of the Event.
    • Event Filter – Add additional information to limit the images that are shown in the Calendar view such as Time, Type, People, Cameras, Rating, Label, Flagged, and Categories. If no filter is applied, then all files in the selected folder will show in the Event.
