Creating Events

Events can be added to your Mylio Photos LifeCalendar by adding them manually or by importing events from a digital calendar (e.g. Google Calendar, Apple iCloud Calendar, or Microsoft Outlook). The steps below will walk you through creating individual events. To learn more about adding Linked Calendars, click here.

Creating an Event from the Calendar View

  1. Click or tap on the Calendar icon in the left sidebar.
  2. Locate and select the day, month, or year to which you wish to add an event.
  3. Click or tap the + icon in the right sidebar to add a new Event.
  4. In the Event dialog, enter additional information about your Event.
    • Cover Photo – Click or tap the thumbnail image to choose a cover photo for your Event.
    • Event Date – Adjust the date(s) for your Event. If necessary, click the ellipsis icon to choose a Timestamp, Date Range, or other date option.
    • Event Name – Add a title for your Event.
    • Description – Add an optional description for your Event.
    • Categories – Add optional Categories for your Event.
    • Priority – Adjusting the priority of an event tells Mylio how to rank this Event compared to other Events. Life Events are assigned the highest priority.
    • Autoplay Slideshow – When turned ON, Mylio will automatically start a slideshow when the Event is viewed.
    • Scoped by – Choose Date or Folder to populate the Event (i.e., all photos from a particular date or all photos from a specific Folder.)
  5. Click or tap the Save button to create your Event

Quickly create an Event from a Folder by right-clicking on it (or opening the Actions menu), and choosing Add To > New Event.

Creating an Event from a Folder

Adding an Event from a folder is a quick and easy way to populate your LifeCalendar™. Mylio Photos can use metadata from the images in a folder to establish a start and end date for a new Event based on those parameters.

  1. Click or tap on the Folder icon in the left sidebar.
  2. Click or tap on the arrow at the top of the right sidebar to reveal the right panel and access the Info Panel.
  3. Scroll down to the Categories section and toggle the Show Folder as Calendar Event option to the ON position to expand the Event options.
  4. Enter any desired additional information about your Event (e.g. Event Name, Description, Priority, etc.).

Editing Events

  1. Click or tap on the Calendar icon in the left sidebar.
  2. Select the day, month, or year that contains the Event you wish to edit.
  3. Click or tap on the arrow at the top of the right sidebar to reveal the right panel and access the Info Panel.
  4. The Events section of the Info tab will list all Events for the selected day, month, or year.
  5. Click or tap on an Event and choose Edit Event.
  6. Edit the Event details as necessary, then click or tap the Save button.

Editing an Event from the Info Panel

Editing an Event in the Info Panel offers additional options for customizing how your Event is viewed and allows you to see additional information about the images included in the Event.

  1. Click or tap on the Calendar icon in the left sidebar.
  2. Select the day, month, or year that contains the Event you wish to edit.
  3. Click or tap on the arrow at the top of the right sidebar to reveal the right panel and access the Info Panel.
  1. The Events section of the Info tab will list all Events for the selected day, month, or year.
  2. Click or tap on an Event and choose See Photos and Files in This Event.
  3. Explore the Info Panel for additional options to customize your Event.

  • Adjust the Event Date.

  • Edit the Event Name and Description.

  • Assign or edit the Event Priority.

  • Enable or disable automatically playing your Event as a Slideshow

  • Add an Event Filter to customize which images are shown in your Event using QuickFilters.

  • See any People who are tagged in the selected Event.

  • View the location of the Event on a map under Places.
