The Folders View in Mylio Photos can be customized to suit your organizational preferences and visual style. By default, folders are grouped into predefined Sections, such as the Mylio Photos Library, Shared Content, Social Media, Apple & Android Photos, and Devices with Linked Folders.

However, you’re not limited to the default layout. You can:

  • Create custom sections to group folders by project, individual users (ideal for Family or Team plans), or any other category that fits your workflow.
  • Reorder sections to reflect your preferred hierarchy.
  • Assign custom cover photos to folders, making it easier to visually identify your content at a glance.

These customization options help make your Mylio Photos library more personal, intuitive, and efficient to navigate.

Method 1: From the Folders View

  1. In the Folders View, single-click a folder to select it.

  3. In the Cover section, click the current cover photo or the pencil icon .

  2. Select the image you want to use and click Choose.

Method 2: From Inside the Folder

  1. Click Folders icon in the left sidebar.
  2. Double-click a folder to open it and view its contents.
  3. Select the image you want to use as the cover photo.

  1. Select the folder and open the Info Panel.
  2. In the Cover section, click the current cover photo.
  3. In the dialog that appears, click Reset to restore the Photo Prioritization default image.

Annotations and Iconography

Annotations are small graphic overlays that provide helpful visual information about the contents or status of each folder in the Folders View.

Here’s what you might see:

  • In the top-left corner of each folder tile, you’ll see:
    • A number showing how many media files (photos, videos, or documents) are inside the folder.
    • If the folder contains subfolders, a folder icon will appear alongside a second number indicating how many subfolders are nested within it.
  • In the top-right corner, you may see additional annotations, such as:

These optional annotations can be shown or hidden at any time:

  1. Click the More Menu icon in the top app bar.
  2. Choose Annotations.
  3. Use the toggles to turn Tap to Categorize and Tap to Sync on or off, depending on your preference.

Use Folder Icons or Legacy Folder View Thumbnails

By default, folders in the Folders View are displayed using a folder-shaped graphic. If you prefer the classic look, you can switch to the legacy square thumbnail view.

  1. Click the More Menu icon , then choose Settings
  2. Select Device Appearance.
  3. Toggle the switch next to Use Folder Icons to the OFF position to revert to square thumbnails.

You can turn this setting back ON at any time to return to the modern folder icon style.
