The first collection in People view is Untagged. This smart album contains all images where Mylio Photos has detected a face but hasn’t matched or confirmed it with a name in your Mylio Photos Library.
- Click the People icon in the left sidebar then double-click on the Untagged collection to open it.
- Click the question mark icon under each face.
- Choose a name from the list or type a name into the Who is this?.
- If the name hasn’t been used before, you’ll be asked to confirm the first and last name. When you’re done, click the Create button.
- If you don’t know the person or prefer not to tag them, click Ignore.
*TIP: When tagging photos in the grid view, Mylio Photos will automatically Zoom to Face to help you easily identify and tag people. If you’d prefer to see the entire image, click the ellipsis icon in the top app bar to access the More menu and toggle the Zoom to Face option OFF.
*TIP: Save time with keyboard shortcuts – Click the ellipsis icon in the top app bar to access the More menu and choose Settings. Under Advanced, toggle the switch next to When typing names enable 1-5 shortcuts to the ON position. Next time you click on the question mark icon under a face, you can simply use the keyboard to select options 1
, 2
, 3
, 4
, or 5
to choose a name from the list or type 0
to ignore the face.

Hi Marc - When you import media into Mylio, one of the things that happens is scanning for recognizable faces. 170k images is a lot for Mylio to process and scan, so you may need to give it some time. You can check to see if Mylio is currently scanning by opening the Sync Panel in the right panel and then expanding the Activity section.

I linked my photo file from my NAS. This is where I keep almost all of my images. Mylio shows a library of over 170,000 images. I can see them in "All photos" under "By Folder". When I t try to to use "People" to tag images I only see abut 20 images. I think they are from "Pictures" on my computer, not from the NAS. How do I either self tag or auto tag images that are on my NAS?
