Remote Control allows users to set up and adjust settings on other devices signed in to their Mylio Photos+ account. This feature is handy for more technical users who want to manage the core settings, views, and syncing of their family members’ or trusted collaborators’ devices. Remote Control makes it easy to add a child, spouse, parent, or other trusted collaborator to your Mylio Photos+ account or set up a device as a portfolio for sharing.

Controls include:

  • Which Spaces are visible in the Spaces menu.
  • Which images are synced at optimized or original quality
  • Requiring a Passcode to switch Spaces
  • Which Views and tools are available
  • Ability to add, modify, or delete when working with Files, Folders, Albums, People, and Events
  • Restrict edits to File Information, Rating, Keywords, Face Tags, and more
  • Restrict cropping and visual editing
  • Restrict sharing

Adjusting Access with Remote Control

Assigning a Space to a Specific Device

When a Space is assigned to a specific device, that device will be limited by the settings for that particular Space. If the settings and permissions for a Space are modified, any device with that assigned Space will inherit those settings.

  1. Click the Dashboard icon  in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Devices, then choose the device you wish to manage.
  3. Under the Current Space dropdown menu, select the desired Space.

Assigning a Sync Policy to a Specific Device

Most viewing devices are assigned the SpaceSaver Device Sync Policy Preset by default. However, this can be changed for any device on your account using Remote Control.

  1. Click the Dashboard icon  in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Devices, then choose the device you wish to manage.
  3. Click on Device Sync Policies, and select a different preset or add a QuickCollection to sync specific optimized images or originals.

Adding Passcode Protection to a Space
  1. Click the Spaces icon in the left sidebar, and select Manage Spaces.
  2. Enter your Master Passcode.
  3. Toggle the switch next to Enable Passcodes to the ON position.
  4. Select the Space you’d like to protect with a passcode, then click the Edit button.
  5. Under Passcode Protect, choose one of the following options:
    • Off – No Passcode will be required to enter or exit this SSpace
    • Master Passcode Required – This will require the user to enter a Master Passcode to view the selected SSpace
    • Space Passcode Required – Select this option if you’d prefer to create a unique Passcode for the selected SSpace
  6. Toggle the switch next to Require Passcode to Exit to restrict the user from exiting the designated Space without the Passcode. This option works well when sharing a device with members of a household or workgroup for a specific project.
