Most modern cameras can automatically add GPS coordinates and location information. However, suppose your camera doesn’t have that option (or you’ve turned GPS tracking off). In that case, you can manually add location information by dragging photos onto the map to assign an approximate location or entering GPS coordinates and other location information in the Places section of the Info Panel.
Location information can be viewed and managed in several places inside the Mylio Photos application.
- Use the Map view to explore where images were captured and make minor location adjustments.
- Use the Places section in the Info Panel to view or edit the location information and GPS coordinates or assign an approximate location to a group of images.
- Click the Map Expand Button
to enlarge the map in the Places section.
- Select the image(s) you want to add to the map, then:
- Type an address or location into the Find Location field, as you type, the drop-down menu will show matching items. Select the location you wish to use from the list, then click the pin icon
to apply the selected address or location to the selected images.
- Drag and drop them onto the map.
- Right-click on the Map to add a location pin.
- On a phone or tablet, long-press on the map location you’d like to assign.
- Type an address or location into the Find Location field, as you type, the drop-down menu will show matching items. Select the location you wish to use from the list, then click the pin icon
- When you’re done working with the map, click the arrow
to minimize the map.
- Click the Map Expand Button
- Add or Edit Exact GPS Coordinates

- Select an image.
- Click the info icon
at the top of the right sidebar to reveal the right panel and access the Info Panel*.
- Scroll down to the Places section, and expand it if necessary.
- If the selected image does not have location information, you can drag and drop the image onto the map or enter GPS Coordinates and other location information into the text fields below the map.
- If the selected image has location information, you’ll see a pin on the map and the exact GPS Coordinates in the text field below the map.
- Click and hold or right-click on the pin, then choose Edit Location or Remove GPS.
- Edit Location will allow you to click and drag the pin to a new location. When you’re satisfied with the placement, click the green checkmark
on the pin to confirm. To cancel placement, click the red X
.
- Remove GPS will delete all location information from the photo.
- Edit Location will allow you to click and drag the pin to a new location. When you’re satisfied with the placement, click the green checkmark
- Click on the field for Location Shown, Address/Sublocation, City, State/Province, or Country to open the Edit Location Metadata dialog. Make any desired changes, then click the Done button.
- Click in the GPS Coordinates text field to edit or delete the exact GPS coordinates.

- Select the image(s) you want to manage in grid view.
- Click the info icon
at the top of the right sidebar to reveal the right panel and access the Map panel.
- If the selected images do not have location information, you can add them.
- Type an address or location into the Find Location field, as you type, the drop-down menu will show matching items. Select the location you wish to use from the list, then click the pin icon
to apply the selected address or location to the selected images.
- Drag and drop your selection onto the map. (grid view only)
- Right-click on the Map to add a location pin.
- On a phone or tablet, long-press on the map location you’d like to assign.
- Type an address or location into the Find Location field, as you type, the drop-down menu will show matching items. Select the location you wish to use from the list, then click the pin icon
- Refine the placement by clicking and dragging the pin. When you’re satisfied with the placement, click the green checkmark
on the pin to confirm. To cancel placement, click the red X
.
- If the selected images have location information, you’ll see one or more on the map.
- Click and hold or right-click on a pin, then choose Edit Location. Click and drag the pin to a new location. When you’re satisfied with the placement, click the green checkmark
on the pin to confirm. To cancel placement, click the red X
.

- Open the image you want to tag in single photo view.
- Tap the More menu icon
and select Info Panel, then scroll down to the Places section.
- Enter the name of a place in the Find Location field at the top of the map, as you type, the drop-down menu will show matching items.
- Click the pin icon
to apply the selected address or location to the selected images.
- Click the pin icon
on the thumbnail pin to confirm. To cancel placement, click the red X
.
