Export with a Watermark

Adding a watermark helps a layer of protection and personal branding to your photos when sharing online. Mylio Photos offers the option to add a customizable text watermark or apply a graphic watermark to your exported and shared photos. Mylio Photos’ watermark settings are device-specific, meaning that you can create a unique watermark to use when exporting from each of your devices.

1. Select your photo(s): Choose a single image or a series of images that you’d like to share.
2. Click the Share icon .
   • On a computer, click the settings icon next to the sharing method you’d like to use (e.g., email, system clipboard, etc.).
   • On a phone or tablet, tap the settings icon next to Share.
3. Next to Watermark, click None and choose Text or Image.
4. Click the arrow to customize your watermark as desired (see the detailed instructions below for customization options), then click the back arrow when finished.

Customizing a Text Watermark

Mylio Photos offers several choices for customizing a text watermark.

1. Follow the steps above to add a watermark on a computer or mobile device.
2. After Choosing the Text option, click or tap the arrow to the right of your current watermark.
3. Choose from the following settings:
   • Watermark Text – Enter the text you would like applied to your photos.
   • Horizontal – Choose the horizontal placement for your watermark.
   • Vertical – Choose the vertical placement for your watermark.
   • Height % – Choose the height (size) of your watermark as a percentage of the total photo.
   • Margin % – Choose the distance from the edge of the photo for your watermark. A higher % will create a larger inset.
   • Font – Choose the font for your watermark. (Windows and macOS only; not available for Android and iOS.)
   • Foreground Color – Choose a color for your watermark text.
   • Background Color – Choose a background color for your desired watermark.
4. Click or tap the back arrow at the top of the Watermark dialog, then continue with your share/export if using a computer, or tap the in the upper left corner on mobile devices to save your settings and proceed with your Export.

*TIP: To create a copyright symbol © use the alt + 0169 (Windows) or option + g keyboard shortcut (macOS).

Customizing an Image Watermark

Mylio Photos offers several choices for customizing the image and placement of your watermark.

*TIP: PNG files with transparency work best for image and graphic watermarks.

1. Follow the steps above to add a watermark on a computer or mobile device.
2. After Choosing the Image option, click or tap the arrow next to Set Image.
3. Click the More icon in the Your Image field to choose the folder in Mylio Photos where your watermark images are located, then click the Select button.

4. Select the watermark image you’d like to use, then click the Choose button.

5. Choose from the following settings:
   • Horizontal – Choose the horizontal placement for your watermark (Left, Center, Right)
   • Vertical – Choose the vertical placement for your watermark (Top, Center, Bottom)
   • Height % – Choose the height (size) of your watermark as a percentage of the total photo. In this example, we’ll use 15.
   • Margin % – Choose the distance from the edge of the photo for your watermark. A higher % will create a larger inset. In this example, we’ll choose 0%
   • Opacity % – Choose how light or dark the watermark should appear on your image. In this example, we’ll use 65%. This is dark enough to be legible but light enough to keep the watermark unobtrusive.

6. Click or tap the back arrow at the top of the Watermark Image dialog, then continue with your share/export if using a computer, or tap the in the upper left corner on mobile devices to save your settings and proceed with your Export.
