Many cameras can capture two versions of the same photo at once: a RAW file and a processed file such as JPEG or HEIF. This gives you a ready-to-share version and a higher-quality RAW file for detailed editing. Mylio Photos automatically recognizes these pairs when you import them. The files are stacked together so you see one image in your library.
How Mylio Displays RAW+Non-RAW Pairs
In a stacked pair, the Filename field in the Info Panel shows all associated file types. For example:
221201_0002.(arw, jpg, xmp)
or
221201_0002.(nef, heic, xmp)
By default, Mylio Photos displays the RAW version. You can change the default behavior at any time.
Set Your Default Display Preference
- Click the More Menu icon
in the top app bar and choose Settings.
- Select General.
- Toggle Prefer RAW when available ON or OFF.
- ON → RAW displays by default.
- OFF → JPEG/HEIF displays by default.
Choose RAW or Non-RAW During Import
When using Copy or Move import options, you can control which version Mylio displays in the app:
- Default – Uses your global setting from Settings > General.
- NonRAW – Shows the JPEG/HEIF version.
- RAW – Shows the RAW version.
These options appear in the Display in App section of the import dialog under Show Advanced Settings.

You can change which version you’re viewing at any time:
- Open a photo in Single Photo view.
- In the Info Panel, click the Display in App icon
