Hi Ann - Mylio Photos is not cloud-based, meaning your photos and videos stay on your personal devices rather than being stored on an external server. Instead, Mylio uses a peer-to-peer (P2P) connection, which allows your devices to communicate directly with each other over Wi-Fi or a local network. When you log into Mylio Photos, your devices recognize each other and sync your library privately and securely, so there’s no need to upload anything to the Cloud.

The number of photos and videos you can store in Mylio Photos is unlimited—the only limitation is your available storage. If you run out of space, you can simply add a larger hard drive or an additional storage device to keep growing your library.

Your hard drives don’t need to be always connected to access your photos unless you want continuous access to your full-resolution originals. If a drive is disconnected, you can still browse and edit lower-resolution previews stored on your other devices. If you need access to full-resolution files while a drive isn’t connected, adding optional cloud storage is a great idea. Mylio Photos works with Mylio Drive+ for secure, always available storage. You can also connect to cloud services like OneDrive, Google Drive, and more to ensure you always have access to your original files, no matter where you are.

Following from this question from Shad, I also don't quite understand this. If it's not cloud base , does it just use log in and WIFI settings to connect devices? I don't understand what peer to peer means. If there is no limit of photos or videos in your Mylio library, and the photos live on your personal hard drives, do those hard drives need to be always connected to a pc to have access to those photos??

Hi Shad – Mylio Photos connects your devices directly through a peer-to-peer system. Once you log in and verify your account on each device, they can communicate with each other to sync your photos and videos. Using cloud storage is optional, not mandatory. Your media stays private because it’s stored locally on your devices, and Mylio Photos (the company) cannot access or view your files.

Articles keep talking about how everything can be seen from multiple devices and says it is cloud-free. It never explains how it does this.
